Who are we looking for?
Our Environment group in Tasmania is a team of 23+ passionate professionals across two offices, dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions for multidisciplinary projects of all sizes across renewable energy, transport, resources, water, defence, and other markets.
We are seeking two levels of experience to join our team – both an Environmental Planner AND Senior Environmental Planner - to be involved in and drive the development and growth of our team's capabilities in Environmental Approvals. You will deliver innovative solutions and high-quality projects for our clients, and help build a robust, skilled, and motivated team capable of sustaining our long-term success.
Our position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
1. Using your technical, project management, and client relationship skills to contribute to or lead the technical delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment, Approvals, and Planning projects.
2. Consulting with internal and external stakeholders on legislation and regulations related to Environmental Impact Assessment and planning, including staying current with legislation updates.
3. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including business development and engagement throughout project delivery.
4. Leadership (Senior) – supporting our team through mentoring and development.
5. Contributing to the development of comprehensive environmental management plans, strategies, and reporting.
What you will bring to the team:
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Planning or Environmental Planning related studies (such as Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or Urban Planning).
2. Demonstrated professional experience (ideally 5-15 years) in a consulting environment.
3. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills - both verbal and written.
4. Experience leading approvals and/or planning projects.
5. Expertise or exposure to setting strategy, design, coordination, and management of environmental impact assessment studies and regulatory approvals applications.
6. Working knowledge of Tasmanian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning policy is highly desirable.
7. Eligibility for registration or chartered status with relevant professional bodies.
8. Experience with defence projects or the ability to obtain defence clearance is highly desirable.
