At Marand we count some of the world’s largest miners and rollingstock operators as our customers. We have supplied a range of automated rolling stock maintenance facilities for our clients and their operations in the Pilbara and around Australia.

These facilities operate day and night providing regular maintenance on ore cars and locomotives. Using automated cranes, lifting and jacking equipment, wheelset and wheel handling equipment and AGVs, we help to eliminate the risks of manual handling and line-of-fire operations and greatly improve productivity and efficiency in remote operations.

Key responsibilities of the role

- Represent Marand at customers’ sites.
- Perform required repairs and/or replacement of parts.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing optimal functionality of required tools and equipment.
- Assist other trades personnel as required for the purpose of completion of works activities (eg. commissioning, on-site repair/servicing, fault finding).
- Prepare documentation and reports such as pre and post service reports, SWMS, maintenance schedules, etc.
- Work closely with the customer to build relationships to maintain / improve up time on equipment.

Essential Technical Skills and Qualifications

- Proficient in the disassembly, assembly, and repair of a variety of machines and components.
- Trade qualifications in Fitting & Turning or similar and previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Perform basic testing on all equipment systems.
- Strong interest in equipment technology, as well as demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Understanding of engineering drawings.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

- Previous experience as a service technician will be highly regarded.
- Solid understanding and previous experience of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Confined Space Entry Qualifications.
- Forklift Driver Qualifications.
- EWP tickets.
- Heavy Ridged Truck Licence.
- Working at Heights.
