Job Opportunity for Occupational Therapist in Rural Settings
Occupational therapists play a vital role in enabling individuals to achieve independence and participation in their daily lives. We are seeking experienced and registered occupational therapists for short-term placements in rural and remote communities across Australia.
* Assess clients' functional capacity and develop individualised treatment plans that cater to their unique needs.
* Deliver therapy that supports clients to achieve greater independence, with a focus on promoting self-care and daily living skills.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective service delivery.
* Provide assessments and interventions in diverse environments, including aged care facilities, hospitals, and community settings.
* Educate clients, families, and support workers on therapeutic strategies that promote client-centred care.
* Document clinical findings accurately and maintain confidentiality, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
* Adapt quickly to varied clinical settings and community needs in rural and remote locations.
Requirements:
* Unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an occupational therapist.
* A minimum of two (2) years' full-time equivalent clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
* Evidence of at least 250 hours of relevant clinical practice within the past 12 months, demonstrated via a certificate of employment or payslips confirming your role.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with a practical assessment component.
* Ability to remain calm and operate effectively in unstructured, rapidly changing environments.
