Role Purpose
The SharePoint Specialist will lead the technical review, redesign, and implementation of the existing SharePoint structure to ensure it meets core business needs and aligns fully with Queensland Government and departmental legislative frameworks.
The overarching goal is to ensure the organisation's information is well-structured, easy to navigate, compliant, secure, scalable, and accessible to staff across metropolitan, regional, and international locations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation: Review existing SharePoint design and lead the redesign and implementation of the new architecture to ensure clarity, consistency, and ease of use.
Data Transition: Identify change management requirements and execute the migration of data into the new structure in line with modern information management principles.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure information governance aligns with Queensland State Archives requirements.
Manage permissions, versioning, records management processes, and security protocols.
Structure Development: Develop and implement critical metadata, content types, templates, and navigation structures.
Content Discoverability: Lead improvements to Microsoft Search and overall content discoverability across the organisation.
Training & Support: Provide training, guidance, and support to staff, including remote support for regional and international offices.
Required Capabilities & Skills
Platform Expertise: Strong SharePoint Online administration and design experience.
Government Frameworks: Understanding of Queensland Government record-keeping frameworks.
M365 Ecosystem: Experience with Power Automate, Teams integration, and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex problems, simplify complexity, and design user-friendly solutions.
Communication: Strong communication and documentation skills.
