The Opportunity
We are seeking a
hands-on, proactive QHSE Manager
to strengthen and elevate Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across the site.
This role is both
strategic and operational
—perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working closely with teams, and driving continuous improvement. While you won't have direct reports, you will collaborate across multiple departments and be supported by a strong national and global QHSE network within the Spirax Group.
The company welcomes applicants who may not have previously held the title "Manager" but who have proven responsibility for HSE within industrial, manufacturing, or operational settings. About You
You will bring demonstrated experience in HSE or QHSE within a production, operational, or manufacturing environment. You understand quality systems, auditing, and risk management, and you have the confidence to engage with people at all levels.
You will also bring:
* Minimum
BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
(or equivalent)
* Experience supporting or leading QHSE initiatives
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
* A hands-on, collaborative approach that promotes safety and quality across the business
* Additional qualifications in Quality Management Systems or advanced HSE (highly regarded)
Key Responsibilities
As the QHSE Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high‑performing workplace. Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining QHSE policies, procedures, and systems
* Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies
* Investigating incidents and leading corrective and preventive actions
* Delivering QHSE training and building a culture of safety and quality
* Leading internal audits, inspections, and performance reporting
* Overseeing environmental initiatives, including waste and pollution management
* Promoting "Right First Time" quality practices across production and engineering
* Managing emergency response planning and safety drills
* Ensuring contractor and supplier compliance
* Working cross‑functionally with operations, HR, maintenance, and engineering
* Liaising with global QHSE teams across Europe, APAC, and the wider Spirax Group
* Maintaining accurate records for audits, compliance, training, and incidents
* Overseeing procurement related to safety and quality requirements
