Operating one of the most advanced alumina refineries in Australia, they are focused on sustainable operations and empowering their people to make a meaningful difference in the local and global community.About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Power Systems/Control Systems Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering team at Yarwun Refinery.
In this role, you will provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable plant operations.
You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and integrating new technologies into the plant's electrical infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver technical electrical and control systems support to maintenance and operations teams.Ensure compliance with internal site standards, safety procedures, and legislative requirements.Provide engineering governance for plant systems and electrical assets, including control, monitoring, and protection systems.Support reliability and performance improvements of plant operations through system upgrades and data-driven analysis.Lead or contribute to the design, review, and implementation of projects involving electrical and automation systems.Engage with internal stakeholders and vendors for commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.Contribute to hazard identification, risk assessments, and EEHA (Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas) compliance activities.Skills And Experience RequiredTertiary qualifications in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in heavy industry (ideally in material handling or similar).Proven experience with conveyor systems, iMAC monitoring and protection systems, PLCs, and variable speed drives (VSDs).EEHA competency and understanding of associated legislation.Strong safety-first mindset and practical problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.How To ApplyClick the Apply button or for more information please contact:WorkPac Principal ConsultantCall Kayla Royal on 07 4979 8631 or email ****** quoting the reference number below.Job Reference Number: 7396J202554331About WorkPacWorkPac is Australia's largest privately owned workforce solutions business.
