The Opportunity

We have an Electrical & Instrumentation Apprenticeship available for someone within our local communities surrounding Warrnambool on a full-time permanent basis. Your apprenticeship will consist of 2-4 years of both onsite work experience and formal classroom training. You will be an integral part of the team, learning from our highly skilled tradespeople. This position will give you a nationally recognised dual trade qualification Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (Apprenticeship), and Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control. After completion, you will be a qualified technician in your trade. APA will cover and provide all your: TAFE fees, tools and equipment, expenses for work travel, PPE clothing.
Responsibilities
Travel out to planned and unplanned maintenance, inspection and repair works within the region
Proactively monitor the process conditions of our assets by performing routine checks on all types of equipment
Service and repair a variety of equipment
Support in equipment replacements and upgrades as required
Perform routine easement maintenance and inspection (e.g., signage replacement, erosion repairs and vegetation management activities)
Contribute to the safety and efficient delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance
Prioritise the safety of yourself, your team and environment
Ensure that regional site facilities are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
Involvement in job preparation including the identification and collation of tools and equipment, required parts and relevant operational documentation
Involvement in the review and update of key operational documentation

Available to commence or continue your career with APA in January 2026
3rd year apprentices encouraged to apply
Ready to ask questions, work hard, listen, and learn from your mistakes
Enjoy working outdoors and getting your hands dirty
Able to listen carefully, follow directions in the interest of safety for yourself, the team, assets, and environment
Able to work in confined spaces / at heights
Licensed to drive a motor vehicle
Enthusiastic and dedicated to learning and developing your skills
