Your new role
Are you a results-driven leader with a talent for bringing out the best in your team? We're looking for a Construction Manager to take ownership of project outcomes by leading and developing a small team of Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Administrators. This role is less about being on the tools and more about getting the best performance through structured planning, coaching, accountability, and support.
As our Construction Manager, your primary focus will be leading a team to success. You'll set the tone, direction, and expectations for delivery ensuring your people have the clarity, tools, and guidance they need to perform at their best. You'll be the connection point between operational execution and strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, support and develop a small team of Project Managers, Supervisors and Administrators to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery.
* Drive accountability and performance across the team by setting clear expectations and monitoring delivery against scope, budget, and schedule.
* Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture where people are empowered, supported, and outcomes-focused.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, including NCC and HSE
* Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational delivery with business strategy.
* Monitor project pipelines, resourcing, and risks to ensure proactive decision-making.
* Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to build capability within the team.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Trade and tertiary qualifications in Construction or related discipline including a Commercial Builder's Licence (or willingness and ability to obtain)
* A significant amount of experience and a proven track record in construction leadership roles, ideally overseeing multiple projects and teams comprised of both direct staff and subcontractors.
* Experience in contracts administration and negotiations with both industry developed and Australian standards conditions
* Strong people leadership skills, you know how to influence, motivate and hold others accountable.
* Commercial acumen and the ability to balance operational detail with big-picture goals.
* Strong understanding of the Building Code of Australia and construction legislation
* Clear and confident communication – both up and down the chain and with Clients.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to pivot, prioritise, and solve problems as they arise.
* Experience in modular construction (advantageous)
