About the role
Silverthorne Earthmoving pty ltd' is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter to join our team in Karratha, Western Australia. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, playing a crucial part in maintaining our operations.
What you'll be doing
1. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on a range of heavy machinery and equipment, including graders cat and john deere, dozer d8 and d6 vpat, loaders, haul trucks and more
2. Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
3. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, in compliance with relevant safety and quality standards
4. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
5. Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures
6. Mentor and train junior team members as required
What we're looking for
1. Formal trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
2. Extensive knowledge of the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
3. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues
4. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
6. Current driver's licence and ability to obtain relevant licences/tickets for operating heavy machinery
