Accountant / Financial Controller - Automotive Dealership
Based in the inner‑city area of Sydney, this is a rare hands‑on opportunity to be an integral part of this dealership "start‑up". Reporting to the Dealer Principal, this autonomous role will be responsible for the full finance function, setting up systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
* Initially, this will involve processing vehicle deals, manage stock entries and reconcile OEM incentives.
* Vehicle stock control and floorplan reporting
* Prepare monthly management reports, P&Ls, and forecasts
* Monitor cash flow, budgets, and variance analysis
* Ensure compliance with tax and financial regulations
* Lead end‑of‑month processes, reconciliations, and financial close
* Oversee procurement and supplier agreements
* Manage payroll and employee records
* Manage HR compliance. Support onboarding paperwork and ensure PAYG, Superannuation and leave entitlements requirements are met.
* Implement accounting and dealer management systems
* Develop templates, checklists and workflows covering dealer operations and dealer management systems.
About You
* Previous experience in a dealership or automotive accounting is essential, preferably across multiple sites.
* Dealership start‑up experience highly regarded.
* Not essential but CPA / CA qualification would be highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of dealership operations and DMS platforms (e.g. Pentana).
* High level of accuracy, analytical skills, and time management.
* An ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail.
* A positive, proactive, solutions‑focused attitude with genuine desire to engage with the broader team.
* Dedicated to efficiency with proven experience in automation and continuous improvement.
* Genuine passion for the automotive industry and delivery of excellence in customer experience.
