Your new company
Join a major global agri‑business brand with operations across more than 100 countries and a significant and growing asset base in Australia. Following multiple acquisitions and ongoing investment, the business is building out a new FP&A function in Queensland to strengthen performance insight, cost transparency and operational decision support. You will work closely with the Senior Industry Controller, as part of a wider national team spanning both trading and asset performance.
Your new role
This is a commercially‑focused position, supporting the performance and cost management of several processing assets. It suits someone analytical, diligent and curious, who enjoys understanding how operational activity translates into financial outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Operational & Asset Performance Controlling
Analyse the performance of multiple processing plants, including production costs, variances and margin impacts.
Provide cost insights and commentary to finance and operational leaders.
Conduct trend analysis and investigate unusual movements or anomalies.
Management Accounting Support
Assist with month‑end management reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financials.
Interpret P&L, revenue, volume and production cost drivers.
Support the Senior Controller with Australia‑wide reporting requirements.
Fixed Asset & Capex Oversight
Maintain asset integrity including the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
Support capex evaluation and monthly/quarterly reporting.
Ensure assets reconcile accurately back to the general ledger.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Contribute to annual budgets and monthly forecasts across ginning, warehousing and corporate industry units.
Track operational KPIs, volumes and cost drivers.
Systems & Process Improvement
Supporting a large-scale SAP implementation, including data integrity work and process enhancements.
Assist with finance systems improvement projects and general finance systems support.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
3–6+ years in management accounting, cost analysis or commercial finance.
Strong analytical skills and ability to deep‑dive into the general ledger.
Comfortable engaging with operational stakeholders.
Experience in asset‑heavy, manufacturing, processing or commodities environments beneficial.
Intermediate–advanced Excel; JDE or SAP experience preferred (future system will be SAP).
CPA/CA qualifications (or working towards) highly regarded.
