**Your current company**
A large education provider supports apprentices who are undertaking a range of Trades such electrical, horticulture, automotive, engineering, carpentry and plumbing. They support employers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers throughout their career and employment journey.
Offices are based in Ultimo or Parramatta or WFH, however the expectation of this role will be that you will be on the road visiting apprentices on site or in the classroom to do review and mentor them.
**Your new role**
This is a rewarding opportunity to help monitor and progress apprentices and trainees through their qualification to help them start their careers. You are everything from an employment mentor to career councillor, supporting around 65 students and apprentices while they embark on their career within the Trades industry. Duties include:
- Conduct mentoring site visits of Australian Apprentices/Trainees and host employers, ensuring that all communication is accurately, reliably and securely documented.
- Provide support and counselling to Apprentices throughout the contract of training with a focus on maintaining ongoing employment and encouraging and recognising achievements.
- Coordinating and monitoring appropriate on and off the job training relevant to the individual and employment situation.
- Carry out regular WHS checks and discussions with host employer and Australian Apprentices/Trainees in conjunction with site visits and implement collaborative development and improvement activities.
- Provide an excellent level of customer service, dealing with different stakeholders, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrated experience in successfully mentoring Apprentices or Trainees.
- Positive customer service attitude.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety regulations and policies in relation to Australian Apprentices’ site visits.
- Account management and networking skills, with the ability to determine and prioritise relationships, balancing short-term gains with long-term considerations.
- Experience in working within the Trades industry
- Good administration and organisation skills
- Current driver license and ability to undertake frequent travel in Sydney metro region. A car will be provided, and occasional overnight stays as required dependant on the location of the visits.
