About the role
Join the team at Gympie Sports Club as a full-time Chef/Cook. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As an integral member of the kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals that delight our customers.
What you'll be doing
Preparing, cooking and plating a variety of dishes from the menu in a timely and efficient manner
Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
Collaborating with the head chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
Accurately costing and portioning menu items
Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
Ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked and equipment is in good working order
What we're looking for
Formal culinary training and/or several years' experience as a Chef/Cook in a commercial kitchen
Robust knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
Excellent time management and multitasking skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Commitment to upholding high food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work well as part of a team and provide guidance to junior staff
Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing meals
