We are seeking an experienced and motivated Area Manager to join our leadership team and support our next phase of growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the VIC Operations Manager, the Area Manager will oversee the operational performance of multiple service station and convenience retail sites. This role requires a hands‑on leader with strong commercial acumen, the ability to inspire teams, and the drive to deliver operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.
Success in this role will come from a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. No two days are the same, and you will be expected to respond confidently to challenges while supporting your teams to achieve outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all operational aspects of multiple service station and convenience store locations.
* Ensure effective day‑to‑day site management, including staffing levels, merchandising standards, and compliance with legislative and company policies.
* Provide full Site Manager coverage during periods of annual leave, where necessary.
* Manage and audit site rosters to ensure alignment with employment contracts, sales performance and budgeted hours.
* Conduct spot checks to verify staff attendance and roster accuracy.
* Investigate staff concerns or grievances and provide recommendations to the HR department.
* Identify, coach and develop internal talent to support career progression within the business.
* Ensure accuracy, security and integrity of all store transactions.
* Implement operational policies and oversee back‑office administration.
* Drive profitability through operational excellence, cost control and loss prevention initiatives.
* Respond promptly to operational issues and queries raised by site teams.
* Support the opening of new sites and the reopening of refurbished locations.
* Lead, mentor and guide Site Managers, Assistant Managers and Console Operators to deliver exceptional customer service, strong merchandising standards and consistent brand presentation.
* Maintain a safe working environment for all staff and customers.

About You
To be eligible for this role, you must:
* Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
* Be fluent in written and spoken English.
* Possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Have experience in the petrol or convenience retail industry
