About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Support Worker to support participants based in Phillip Island. This role requires a confident, compassionate, and skilled professional who can provide structured support, manage behaviours of concern, and deliver personal and clinical-related care in line with NDIS standards.
You will be supporting a polite and kind individual who can be a little shy at times but has a great sense of humour. He enjoys simple, low-energy activities such as watching TV and relaxing at home.
Your role will focus on providing gentle, understanding, and patient support tailored to his energy levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver person-centred support to participants with complex physical and psychosocial needs
* Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)
* Provide trauma-informed and recovery-focused care
* Assist with personal care and high-intensity daily living supports
* Support participants experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or behavioural escalation
* Apply safe de-escalation strategies during incidents
* Administer or assist with medication (if trained and authorised)
* Support community participation while maintaining risk awareness
* Complete accurate case notes and incident reporting
* Maintain strict compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and safeguarding requirements

* Excellent communication skills (including working with non-verbal or speech-impaired participants)

Essential Experience & Requirements
Qualifications
* Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent)
* Current First Aid & CPR
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* National Police Check
* Working With Children Check
* Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
Experience
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with intellectual disability and complex needs
* Experience managing behaviours of concern
* Experience with continence care and high personal care
* Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans
* Experience working active night shifts
