-----------------------------------

About Us

Perth Festival is your summer invitation to otherworldly experiences. We're a not-for-profit multi-arts festival that brings world class international and local performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events to Perth, Western Australia, every summer.

As Australia's longest-running arts festival, for 70 years we have been celebrating Perth, its people and its culture on the shores of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River). Founded by The University of Western Australia and grounded on Noongar Boodjar, we are uniquely placed to celebrate the oldest living cultures in the world by championing rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions and contemporary arts practice.

We have cultivated decades of cultural growth through commissioning major new works and engaging diverse audiences.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a sharp, strategic and creative Senior Marketing Manager to lead all aspects of marketing for Perth Festival 2026.

As the senior marketing decision-maker, you'll drive the Festival's commercial and audience outcomes; leading a skilled team across campaigns, brand, digital, publicity, and ticketing. You'll report to the senior leadership team, advise the Board, and act as guardian of the Festival's brand and customer experience.

We need a dynamic leader who can pivot strategies and reallocate resources in real time to respond to sales trends and market shifts, ensuring revenue targets are met.

Perth Festival 2026 is focused on rewarding loyalty, engaging new under-35 audiences, and positioning Perth as a culturally vibrant global destination. You'll own the marketing strategy, protect brand equity, and keep the organisation aligned during peak delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance

* Own the Festival's marketing plan, channel calendars, and budgets
* Lead weekly WIPs, risk reviews, and cross-team coordination
* Approve key campaign messaging, creative, and media spend

Audience & Revenue Goals

* Hit attendance and box office targets
* Increase engagement from under-35 audiences and return attendees
* Drive cross-sell, upsell and customer reactivation campaigns

Stakeholder Leadership

* Act as the primary marketing contact for the Senior Leadership Team, Board and partners
* Align internal teams (Campaigns, Digital, Publicity) during key moments
* Oversee marketing incident responses and high-profile communications

Team Management

* Lead and coach a high-performing marketing team
* Delegate effectively across Campaigns (Paid), Digital (Owned), Publicity (Earned), and Brand (Design)
* Ensure clarity on roles, KPIs, and coverage during peak delivery

Measurement & Innovation

* Lead weekly performance reviews and optimisation
* Set and test campaign tactics (creative, pricing, audience segments)
* Deliver post-Festival insights and strategic recommendations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* 8–10 years in senior, integrated marketing roles (preferably in the arts or events sector)
* A strong track record in driving commercial success across Paid/Owned/Earned/Brand channels
* Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships (including SLT and Board reporting)
* Comfort with offer strategy, pricing, media mix, and ticketing systems
* Calm leadership and strong decision-making in deadline-heavy environments

Bonus if you also have:

* Knowledge of Perth's cultural sector
* Familiarity with tools like Asana, Trello, and Tessitura
* A deep appreciation for the arts and audience experience

What We Offer

• Work with purpose – our people are committed to enriching lives through amazing arts experiences, and proud to be part of Australia's longest-running multi-arts festival
