Kingsgrove Animal Hospital is an independently-owned modern small animal hospital in the Inner West/South of Sydney, staffed by 5 veterinarians and a nursing/support team. Our goal is to provide honest and informative veterinary care and service to our patients and their owners. Our hospital is located in the heart of Kingsgrove, with ample parking available on Morgan Street and just 100 meters from Kingsgrove Station. Hurstville Westfield is just a 5-minute drive away.

Your Role
As a Full-Time Veterinary Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care and support to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
* Providing compassionate and attentive care to animals during their stay at the hospital.
* Monitoring patients' health, vital signs, and behavior, reporting any changes to the veterinary team.
* Administering medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by veterinarians.
* Conducting diagnostic tests, collecting samples, and preparing them for analysis.
* Handling and restraining animals safely and gently during examinations and procedures.
* Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
* Educating pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and general pet health.
* Assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment.
* Collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless patient care and a positive client experience.
Requirements
* Certificate 4 qualification in Veterinary Nursing
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Nurse
* Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and genuine care for animals' well-being and their owners' concerns.
* Team Player: Ability to work harmoniously within a team and support colleagues in a collaborative environment.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
* Attention to Detail: Keen observation skills and a proactive approach to patient care.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with veterinary equipment, medical instruments, and computer systems. Our team utilises PIMS Vision VPM; we are shortly moving to Covetrus Ascend.

Hours of work
