The opportunity
Encompassing Digital Services, ICT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, our ICT Operations team are seeking a pragmatic and people-focused professional to step into the role of ICT Operations Lead on a permanent basis.
As ICT Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of ICT professionals, in ensuring the resilience, security and efficiency of Port Stephens Councils ICT systems and networks through the management of risks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer, your direct team will comprise of a mix of ICT Systems Administrators, an ICT Service Desk Team Leader, and Service Desk Officer's, all passionate about providing a high level of customer service in a collaborative environment.
A level of flexibility is required for this position, with outside of hours maintenance and on-call elements required as part of the role.
Recently successfully migrating to Microsoft 365, our enterprise environment includes;
* Virtual server hosting environments.
* Microsoft Windows Server (including Active Directory and Group Policy).
* LAN/WAN services.
* Microsoft Exchange or similar collaborative application.
* Microsoft SharePoint or similar collaborative application.
* Microsoft SQL Server, or other relational database systems (with an understanding of database concepts).
* Citrix.
* Veeam enterprise backup solution.
* Sophos internet and email filtering systems or similar.
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
Base Salary Range: $108,095 to $132,328 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance
You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

* Effective leadership of Council's ICT Infrastructure and Cyber Security team including;
* Continuous improvement of infrastructure management processes
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws
* Continuously observe the cybersecurity landscape to develop and implement an ongoing cybersecurity program of work
* Coordination and delivery of Council's ICT infrastructure systems and services, including;
* Perform routine ICT infrastructure maintenance
* Operational management of Council's network (LAN/WAN) and service application environments
* Access and recommend improvements to infrastructure operations
* Project Delivery, including;
* Managing risks in accordance with Council's Integrated Risk Management System

* A tertiary qualification in or industry certification in ICT or related discipline
* Extensive experience in IT infrastructure management and cybersecurity
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to enable identification of issues, and the judgement to determine appropriate course of action to achieve long term organisation objectives
* Significant experience administering ICT infrastructure components (servers, storage, networks, cloud services) and cybersecurity best practices in an enterprise environment to deliver on responsibilities
* Demonstrated supervisory skills to promote high team performance
* Initiative, flexibility and assertiveness, with the ability to act independently
