Employment Type: Approx 6 month contract with potential to extend
Location: Canberra (onsite work required)
Hourly Pay Rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience
Security Clearance/Requirements: Baseline security clearance
ABOUT THE ROLE
A large Australian Government science and innovation organisation is seeking an experienced APS6 Salesforce Developer to support the enhancement and ongoing delivery of a Salesforce platform. This role will focus on building, optimising and integrating Salesforce solutions to support digital engagement and organisational objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design, develop and implement customised Salesforce solutions aligned with business needs
* Configure and optimise declarative tools including Flows, validation rules and Lightning pages
* Create and maintain custom objects, fields, page layouts and platform configurations
* Deliver system enhancements arising from previous rollout phases, including new functionality
* Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems using APIs and appropriate integration patterns
* Support data migration activities and troubleshoot data integrity issues
* Collaborate with internal IT and digital engagement teams to gather requirements and co-design solutions
* Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
* Use version control and deployment tools to manage releases and contribute to CI/CD improvements
* Ensure solutions comply with security, accessibility and Australian Government standards
* Provide technical advice to support continuous improvement of Salesforce usage
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
* Demonstrated experience developing Salesforce solutions across Sales, Service, Marketing, Experience, Maps and Tableau environments
* Strong capability with Salesforce declarative tools
* In-depth understanding of Salesforce security model and data architecture
* Experience designing and implementing custom objects, fields and page layouts
* Familiarity with Salesforce AppExchange solutions
* Experience using version control and deployment tools (e.g. Git, Salesforce DX)
* Proven experience with system integrations, APIs and integration patterns
* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
* Experience with Veevart
* Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
* Salesforce Developer certification
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce
* Knowledge of Australian Government accessibility standards and user-centred design approaches
ELIGIBILITY
* Australian citizenship is required
* Baseline security clearance required
