About the Role
A new opportunity has become available for an experienced caretaker to join ARRCS on a permanent, full-time basis. The role attracts a salary of $47.38–$50.99 per hour, dependent on previous skills and experience, and includes furnished housing. You will be responsible for the day‐to‐day upkeep, maintenance and general operations of ARRCS staff accommodation. This hands‐on role ensures that all buildings, grounds, and operational equipment are well maintained through appropriate use, regular cleaning, and repairs. You will also support ARRCS in ensuring that staff accommodation is compliant and safe.
Responsibilities
* Perform minor building repairs (basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, fixtures, etc.).
* Manage building utilities including lighting, heating, and water systems.
* Maintain and manage shared living spaces and amenities.
* Serve as the point of contact for staff accommodation needs, including on‐call and after‐hours emergency support.
* Maintain compliance documentation and logs, including incident reports and other relevant records.
* Identify, report, and log issues appropriately to prevent future problems.
Qualifications & Skills
* Background and knowledge working as a caretaker or property manager.
* Familiarity with building utilities management (lighting, heating, water systems).
* Prior experience with shared living space and amenity maintenance.
* Strong communication skills with residents, staff, management, and external contractors.
* Ability to work independently and proactively identify issues before they arise.
* Comfortable working in an aged care environment and interacting with elderly residents.
