About The Role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Responsibilities
Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including operation and maintenance of analysers
Pre and post analytical specimen handling
Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
Assisting scientists in the lab as required
Continuous learning of processing requirements for different types of samples and tests
Staying up to date with processing updates
Responding to result sample requirements and general queries
Identifying and resolving problems at the pre-analytic stage
Qualifications
Specimen processing and data entry experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately
Willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology desirable but not essential
Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection desirable
