Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi‑soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and for use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Superintendent to join our site‑based Commercial team. You will report to the Commercial Manager and work a Monday to Friday dayshift roster.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee tendering, contracting and contract implementation, in addition to the stores function. Work closely with the MGO Mining, Maintenance and CHPP teams to support the operation through delivering timely procurement outcomes, effective contract implementation and disciplined cost control.
Qualifications
* Previous experience leading a multi‑skilled team across supply, contracts and stores.
* Strong experience overseeing tendering processes, contract award and contract implementation in a mining environment.
* Demonstrated ability to enhance value from supplier engagements, ensuring every dollar spent delivers the best possible commercial and operational outcome.
* Proven capability to challenge costs, test scope and commercial assumptions, and protect value through effective contract implementation.
* Experience developing and maintaining practical supply, procurement and contracting standards, procedures and processes.
* Sound contracts administration capability, including embedding commercial terms and managing compliance.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across site and with external suppliers.
* Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
* Focus on stock control and effective inventory management.
* Advanced computer skills, particularly within the MS Office Suite (SAP experience highly regarded).
* Proactive, decisive approach, with high standards of integrity and professionalism.
