Period of employment / Hours: Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) Duties: Primary Purpose / Focus:As a senior member of the Capital Development team, contribute to the growth and sustainability of Tasmania's community infrastructure portfolio, with a particular focus on social and affordable housing, through the delivery of a broad range of capital development projects that meet client needs and achieve value for money.The core objectives of the role are to:Develop and deliver capital works and land development projects which meet client needs and provide value for money outcomes with a particular focus on sub division projects.Maintain strategic links with clients and contribute to the continued development of a strategic approach to asset planning across the Department's property portfolio.Provide high level consultancy advice on all aspects of capital project management to project governance entities, stakeholders, and clients.Develop and maintain standards of competency which enable project teams and working groups to brief, manage and quality assure the actions of consultants and contractors on a professional basis.Contribute to the growth, sustainability, and management of the Department's property portfolio through the delivery of capital development projects and initiatives. Skills and experience: The successful applicant should have a strong knowledge, experience and understanding of civil construction projects, particularly sub divisions.Selection criteria includes:High level expertise and experience in contemporary capital development principles and practice, with a proven capacity to manage and deliver capital works projects through the application of high-level client management and problem-solving abilities.A well demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex capital works and land development projects effectively, requiring high-level problem-solving ability and stakeholder engagement.High level strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills including the ability to understand the political, social and organisational environment and identify relevant issues.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for ALL the selection criteria of this position.Tertiary qualifications in a discipline related to the construction industry, project management or a related building qualification will be highly regarded.
