ABOUT THIS ROLE
· Preparing surfaces for perfection: You will inspect walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring they are clean, level, and ready for plaster or render application.
· Planning and installing plasterboard and insulation: You will measure, cut, and secure plaster sheets, fit thermal insulation and moisture barriers, and make sure everything aligns perfectly.
· Mixing and applying materials: You will prepare plaster, render, and related materials to the correct consistency and apply them evenly, smoothing and finishing walls, ceilings, and decorative features.
· Repairing and restoring surfaces: You will patch damaged plaster, fill joints and nail holes, and ensure all surfaces meet our high-quality standards.
· Creating decorative touches: You will install edge beads, cornices, mouldings, ceiling medallions, and other ornamental plaster features that add style and detail to each project.
· Leveling, shaping, and finishing: You will align and level corners, edges, walls, and ceilings, ensuring all final coatings are smooth, even, and visually flawless.
· Working with render: You will use render for smoothing, finishing, and levelling surfaces on walls and ceilings to achieve a professional look.
· Installing acoustic treatments: You will install acoustic panels and treatments as required for specific projects.
· Collaborating on-site: You will work closely with other tradespeople, coordinating your work to ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
· Maintaining safety and quality: You will ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety standards and building codes, keeping yourself and your team protected while delivering exceptional results.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced plasterer with a strong background in applying, finishing, and repairing plaster and drywall. The ideal candidate will be proficient in measuring, cutting, and fitting plasterboard, installing insulation and moisture barriers, and working safely on site. A commitment to quality workmanship, reliability, and teamwork is required, along with relevant qualifications or certifications preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Applicants must possess a Certificate IV or Diploma in Plastering or equivalent qualification.
· Minimum 1 Year Experience in the relevant field.
· Proficient in mixing plaster and render to the correct consistency and applying it smoothly and evenly.
· Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices relevant to plastering tasks.
· Proven experience as a plasterer with a great understanding of applying and finishing plaster, rendering, and related materials.
· Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining professional standards.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, coordinating with other tradespeople on site.
