Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join our team in Wollongong or Sydney offices. This role will contribute to the company's business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales. As a Principal Planner, you will be responsible for leading project teams and working independently on your own projects.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
* Act as project manager with planning, programming, and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
* Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects, including identification of business resource requirements.
* Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
* Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
* Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.
* Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
* Grow, develop, and mentor junior staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
Skill in self-motivation and self-direction.
Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
