Logistics & Asset Coordinator (Diplomatic Security Division – DSD)

Employment Classification
APS 6 equivalent; non‐referred Labour Hire Worker; contract term: up to 12 months beginning July 2026, with option to extend up to 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage security equipment stocks and assist with procurements to maintain required stock levels.
* Maintain the security asset database to control all security equipment at overseas destinations and in storage in Australia.
* Undertake stocktake and audit of security equipment.
* Plan, manage and deliver end‐to‐end procurement activities including market research, preparation of documentation, evaluations, negotiations and contract awards.
* Provide a high level of customer service and a proactive approach in offering advice and support to internal clients and stakeholders regarding procurement and contract management, in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
* Work under limited supervision, including planning, prioritising and organising work for self to achieve deadlines.
* Group mailbox management, corporate document management and filing.
* Other duties as directed by the Project Manager.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team.
* Ability to undertake analysis of suppliers, markets, products and service categories to inform procurement planning.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision in adverse or high‐stress environments.
Desirable
* Experience or knowledge of Commonwealth procurements including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
* Experience with DFAT overseas missions and their operating environments.
Security Clearance
This is a security designated position; the successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance prior to commencement.

Applicants must be Australian citizens. The service provider will provide the specified personnel; the contract is subject to the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and the Office's internal policies. The role does not require overtime or flexible work arrangements unless assessed on a case‐by‐case basis. All specified personnel must comply with the DFAT Security Clearance and other statutory requirements.
