Your new role: As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by supporting pharmacists in the delivery of hospital pharmacy services, including: Preparing, dispensing and supplying medicines under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Supporting inventory management such as ordering, receipting, storage, stock rotation and expiry monitoring.
Ensuring timely delivery and appropriate storage of pharmaceutical items across Logan and Beaudesert Hospitals.
Repacking and labelling medicines in accordance with the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice.
Participating in quality assurance, service improvement activities, environmental and equipment monitoring, and pharmacy data collection.
Supporting the training, mentoring and development of pharmacy support staff.
This role reports to the Assistant Director of Pharmacy (Operations) through the Pharmacy Assistant Team Leader and operates across a 7-day extended hours roster.
About you: You will be a motivated and reliable pharmacy support professional with a strong commitment to patient safety, quality and teamwork, demonstrated through: Sound understanding of pharmacy terminology, imprest systems and relevant legislation within a hospital environment.
Ability to work independently once trained, while maintaining professional pharmacy practice standards.
Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise with pharmacists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
A collaborative, team-focused approach and a respectful workplace manner.
High attention to detail, accuracy and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Flexibility to work across multiple sites, including Beaudesert Hospital, and participate in weekend and public holiday rosters.
