Select Switchboards, part of the Renko Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Switchboard Drafter / Estimator / Engineer to support our growing switchboard manufacturing operations. This role is suited to someone with a proven history in switchboard drafting and/or estimating within a switchboard manufacturing environment. Your Role
As an Electrical Switchboard Drafter / Estimator, you will be responsible for both technical documentation and cost preparation for switchboard projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing detailed switchboard drawings, layouts, and schematics for manufacture and installation
* Producing accurate estimates and quotations based on specifications and client requirements
* Interpreting electrical specifications, scope documents, and single line diagrams
* Selecting appropriate switchgear, protection devices, enclosures, and components
* Preparing bills of materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation
* Liaising with project managers, engineers, workshop staff, and suppliers
* Supporting design revisions, variations, and value engineering
* Ensuring all drawings and estimates comply with relevant Australian Standards
Essential Skills & Experience
The following are mandatory for this role:
* Proven experience in a switchboard drafting and/or estimating role within a switchboard manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated experience with LV electrical switchboards
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards relevant to switchboard manufacture (e.g. AS/NZS 61439)
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and specifications
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Must be located in Australia with full working rights
Desirable Skills
* Experience with AutoCAD electrical drafting software
* Experience using estimating, job costing, or ERP systems
* Electrical trade or technical background
* Understanding of manufacturing workflows and workshop constraints
* Experience working closely with electrical contractors or project delivery teams

* Preference for Darwin-based applicants to work alongside our manufacturing and project teams
* Remote work may be considered for the right applicant with strong, proven switchboard experience and the ability to work independently
