**About the role**:
As the Strategic Planning Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Strategic Planning Section requiring a strong focus on Treatment Services Planning, Innovation and Optioneering, Network Modelling and Master Planning. Leading an experienced team of professionals, you will manage critical internal and external relationships in relation to our strategic planning services, and your key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
**Developing, implementing, and reviewing long term strategies for the provision of treatment services for sewage and recycled water**:
- Lead the development of the long term (30-year +) Treatment Services Plan (TSP) and implement best practice frameworks and policies.
- Manage the development and delivery of planning reports and business cases for augmentation and/or upgrade of treatment services.
- Assist in the research, investigation, and promotion of innovation within the TSP framework and treatment services and collaborate with the Environmental Sustainability Team to ensure we are achieving our sustainability goals and ensuring that they are integrated into the TSP framework.
**Developing, Implementing and Reviewing Network Master Plans for the Provision of Water Supply, Sewerage and Recycled Water Services**:
- Lead the development of the long-term Network Masterplans and lead the optimisation of energetic network models to improve their calibration and determine efficient mechanisms to address sewer overflow, odour and corrosion, system leakage, water quality and energy efficiency.
- Preparing and delivering a long-term new capital works forecast with the Capital Works Planning Team as required each year.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to develop and lead high performance teams.
- Significant experience in water supply, sewerage and recycled water planning which has included master planning to serve major residential or mixed land use developments.
- An understanding of infrastructure planning and demand forecasting; adaptive planning processes and water industry regulatory environment.
- Engineering qualifications and an understanding of sustainability outcomes relevant to the water industry.
