About this role
The Youth Job Coach is responsible for delivering intensive person-centred case management and mentorship to approximately 50 young people in transition. The role includes undertaking direct employer marketing, providing individual support and running facilitated group-based job search sessions to motivate and promote further job placements.
This challenging role will involve working with a culturally diverse range of people, employers and staff. You will need to demonstrate strong assessment, case management and motivational skills, as well as effective communication skills to negotiate customised jobs for participants with barriers to employment.
You will also be required to hold a current driver's licence, have experience within the youth or employment services sector and possess a minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development or Youth.
Key responsibilities
* To provide intensive person-centred case management and mentorship to approximately 50 young people in transition
* To undertake direct employer marketing and provide individual support to young people
* To run facilitated group-based job search sessions to motivate and promote further job placements
* To assess, stabilise and improve vocational skills of young people
* To refer young people to a range of services and motivate them to find sustainable employment or re-enter education
* To provide post-placement support to young people
Required skills and qualifications
* Current driver's licence
* Experience within the youth or employment services sector
* Minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development or Youth
