We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time Chef to join our culinary team.
Chef Position
This role involves preparing fresh, delicious meals at an Italian-style bistro on the beautiful grounds of James Cook University. As part of a small, supportive team you will work together to prepare short-order meals with a focus on menu development and cost control responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Menu development and cost control
* Preparing and cooking meals for students and staff
* Stock management and minimizing wastage
* Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food handling practices
Requirements:
* A minimum Cert. III Commercial Cookery qualification
* A current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
* 2-3 years' experience as a chef and experience with cooking in bulk quantities
* Confident working with dietary requirements and allergen management protocols
