About the Organisation:

Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB), delivering native title and other services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.

YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

About the Role:

YMAC's Research, Country and Culture Services (RC&CS) team provides Research, Heritage, Environmental and Land & Sea Management services to PBC's and Traditional Owners in the management of their Country and Culture. YMAC's RC&CS is a skilled and coordinated team of archaeologists, anthropologists, environmental scientists, land and sea management specialists, ranger coordinators, managers and administrators who contribute to the ongoing empowerment of our clients – Aboriginal communities and organisations throughout the Yamatji and Pilbara regions.

YMAC is currently seeking a full time (75 hours per fortnight) Business Support Officer to join the RC&CS team in our Perth office on a permanent contract.

Reporting to the Executive Assistant (Research, Country & Culture Services Manager), this position has a significant focus on providing administrative support to the key organisational initiatives within the RC&CS unit.

Responsibilities include supporting the RC&CS unit with a high quality professional business aptitude, undertaking project works, meeting corporate and departmental reporting requirements, and undertaking administrative functions.

About You:

You will be a team player and have the ability to provide effective administrative support to the underlying Research, Heritage and Land and Sea Teams that make up the RC&CS department. You would report to the Executive Assistant to the RC&CS Manager and ideally have an interest in potential regional travel to provide support at meetings, including assisting with logistics and taking minutes.

Organising and coordinating meetings will be a strong suit of yours, from planning stages through to implementation. You will also be able to efficiently organise travel for staff, including flights, accommodation and any required paperwork.

Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum two years experience in a similar administrative role
* Experience working with committees and consultants and providing administrative assistance e.g. meeting preparations, minute taking etc.

Skills

* High level interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills.
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
* Strong organisational and time management skills prioritising own work to agreed deadlines with ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment.
* Excellent attention to detail.

* Team player, willing to work collaboratively within and across teams.
* Ability to work independently whilst also able to work effectively in a team.
