Suncare Community Services is a Queensland based not-for-profit community services organisation offering quality in-home, community and respite care for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
The Handyman role is responsible for the delivery of minor home modifications and maintenance services to Suncare Customers and facilities. The role requires a broad skillset to complete routine maintenance or repairs including formwork, carpentry, minor plumbing, groundskeeping and waste removal. This is a permanent, full-time role (76 hours per fortnight) located on the Sunshine Coast.

**Your key responsibilities will involve home modification and maintenance including**:
- Provide advice in relation to modification and maintenance requests
- Support the Team Leader to provide detailed quotes for minor home modification requests
- Site measures, fabrication and installation of required home modifications including ramps, rails, step modifications, plumbing fixtures etc.
- Liason with relevant health professionals, including Suncare Occupational Therapists, whilst completing site measures and installations
- Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs
- Respond to Customer maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain equipment to ensure the safety of Staff and Customers
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement processes within Suncare
- Contribute to effective team performance through participation in supervision, team member catch ups and team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all WHS policy and procedures
- Actively participate in risk mitigation strategies

You have:
- Trade qualification or minimum 3 years experience working in a similar role
- White/Blue construction card
- Current open Queensland Driver's Licence.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Basic tools
- Must have access to own vehicle and be willing to use it for work purposes, ensuring vehicle is appropriately insured.
- Willingness to attain Criminal History Screenings
- Strong trade skills
- Detail orientated with an aptitude for problem solving
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills including active listening, ability to establish rapport, maintain positive professional relationships, problem-solving, effective consultation, and negotiation.
- A strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving all stakeholders.
