Venue Manager / Operations Manager – Cinema & Hospitality

Cinebar Coolangatta is a dine-in cinema where guests enjoy food and drinks delivered directly to their seats during film sessions.

We are seeking a Venue Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our Coolangatta cinema. This role leads the front-of-house team, maintains service standards and ensures smooth hospitality and cinema operations during film sessions.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys running a venue, building a team and maintaining strong operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Recruitment

* Lead and supervise front-of-house staff including supervisors, runners and bar staff
* Conduct interviews and assist with recruitment of front-of-house team members
* Train and mentor staff across ticketing, food & beverage service and operational procedures
* Maintain Cinebar service standards and team performance

Venue Operations

* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the cinema and hospitality areas
* Ensure smooth food and beverage service during cinema sessions
* Support supervisors during busy service periods
* Maintain venue cleanliness, presentation and operational standards

Systems & Cinema Operations

* Train staff on ticketing and POS systems
* Ensure team members are confident with ordering systems and service workflows
* Develop a basic understanding of cinema operations including starting film sessions and simple troubleshooting
* Perform basic cinema operational tasks when required (training provided), including starting films or restarting equipment
* Escalate technical issues to head office or technical support where required

Administration

* Prepare and manage staff rosters
* Review supervisor handover reports and operational updates
* Communicate with head office regarding staffing and operational matters

About You

The ideal candidate will:

* Have previous experience in hospitality or venue management
* Be confident leading and developing teams
* Be organised and comfortable managing daily operations
* Take pride in maintaining high service standards
* Be comfortable learning basic cinema operational systems (training provided)

Experience in cinema operations is not essential, as full training will be provided.

This role suits someone who enjoys running a venue day-to-day and building a reliable team.
