Ku‑ring‑gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre (KFAC) is a busy, community‑focused aquatic and fitness facility in West Pymble, operated by YMCA NSW. The centre features pools, gym and café facilities and welcomes families, members and visitors' year‑round.
About the role
As a Kiosk Assistant, you'll work in a fast‑paced café/kiosk environment, providing efficient, friendly service to everyone who visits the centre. You'll play a key role in:
* Customer service – being the welcoming face of the kiosk
* Operations – helping with food preparation, stock and cash handling
* Compliance & safety – following food safety, cash handling, and WHS procedures at all times
This role suits someone who enjoys a busy environment, can multitask, and loves working with people.
What you'll do
* Provide exceptional customer service to all café/kiosk customers in a friendly and timely manner
* Maintain a clean, tidy and professional appearance, including wearing the required uniform and name badge
* Build positive, co‑operative relationships with customers and team members
* Assist with food and beverage preparation and baking as required
* Follow all food handling requirements and legislation, including monitoring use‑by dates and disposing of expired products correctly
* Help with stock ordering, receiving and stocktakes, and keep shelves and fridges well stocked
* Follow cash handling procedures with 100% accuracy, ensuring the register balances at the end of each shift
* Keep the kiosk area clean, tidy and free from hazards, maintaining a high standard of presentation
* Work safely and support YMCA NSW risk management and WHS requirements, including incident reporting and hazard management
What you'll bring
* Self‑motivated, customer‑focused and able to work well as part of a team
* A welcoming, friendly and approachable manner
* Ability to multitask and perform in a high‑volume service environment
* Previous customer service experience
* Barista experience
* Current CPR certificate (essential)
* Desirable: Food handling certification
* A reasonable level of fitness and safe manual handling techniques – this role includes physical duties and repetitive manual tasks
