Role Overview
Our Machine Shop is seeking skilled First Class Machinists to join the team at Tomago. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will operate CNC machines and manual machines to repair or alter CAT components. You will interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances, ensuring all work meets the required standards. In addition, a strong technical background will allow you to problem-solve and troubleshoot, with potential pathways to Field Service Line Boring.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines and manual machinery to fabricate and repair components.
Interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances accurately.
Maintain a safety-first approach, prioritising workload and delivering customer satisfaction.
Roster & Remuneration
Roster Pattern: 2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks night shift; Monday to Thursday 10.5-hour shifts, Friday 8.5-hour shifts.
Hourly rates from $48; Overtime rates from $73 (rates are guides and will be assessed based on competencies and experience).
Skills & Experience
Australian recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (essential).
Experience with manual and CNC machining (FANUC programming) – lathes, milling machines, horizontal and vertical borers, cylindrical and surface grinding, surface coatings (laser, HVOF, metal spraying).
Basic computer skills.
Nationally accredited Forklift, Dogman, and Working at Heights tickets (desirable).
Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded.
