About the role
As the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) you will support and enhance the provision of patient-centred care at St. Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for improving the overall quality, accuracy and completeness of patient medical records and clinical documentation.
Responsibilities
Support and enhance patient-centred care by improving the accuracy, completeness, and overall quality of patient medical records.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve documentation gaps.
Assist in education and training activities for staff to improve documentation standards.
Maintain compliance with regulations, legislation, and funding models related to clinical documentation.
Qualifications
Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to work on a permanent part-time basis (30 hours per week).
Strong commitment to improving the quality of clinical documentation.
Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and funding models including coding, DRGs and PHI contracts.
Experience in participating in and supporting education activities to contribute to team development.

St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. It is a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all patients. Services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation.
