Your responsibilities will include
- Lead and inspire a development team: manage and motivate a team of software engineers, fostering innovation and collaboration
- Drive strategic initiatives: implement and deliver against a 2‐year plan, aligning team deliverables with RCS strategic goals
- Stakeholder engagement: lead structured forums and meetings to understand integration needs and drive collaborative development
- Enhance development practices: take ownership of the software development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement in processes and practices

You are an experienced software development leader with a strong background in team management, agile methodologies, and stakeholder engagement, capable of driving innovation in research computing services.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in leading software development teams and driving innovation
- Expertise in agile methodologies and facilitating agile ceremonies
- Proficiency with Python and the Django framework
- Excellent problem‐solving and communication skills

About Research Computing Services
RCS is a department within Business Services that delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operates on high‐performance computing, cloud computing and GPU platforms, manages over 20 PB of research data storage, and supports the development of custom computation and data management solutions. RCS also contributes to national eResearch infrastructure initiatives including the ARDC's Nectar Research Cloud.
