The Team
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their team located at North West Regional Hospital. The team is supportive and close-knit, with regular collaboration and case discussions, providing meaningful, person-centred interventions to a diverse range of acute patient social care needs.
The Role
As a member of the Hospitals North/North West Social Work team, the incumbent will, as part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute to the development, provision and evaluation of social work services for patients of the Hospital and their families and/or the community; in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Australian Association of Social Workers and the Code of Conduct of the Hospitals North/North West.
Rotation across all clinical caseloads in the area including medical, surgical (including short stay) and emergency department.
You Will
* Work primarily in our Acute Service
* Have the opportunity to rotate across all other clinical caseloads including Medicine, Surgery and Emergency
* Receive ongoing support and supervision provided by a Senior Social Worker
Details of Appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from 25 May 2026 until 31 August 2026. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.

Eligibility
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Hold, or be eligible for, full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
* Current Working with Children Registration
