**Overview**
Our Client is seeking Assistant Accountant - Treasury ensures the consistent and efficient implementation of receipting and banking procedures contributing to the wider financial control environment, whilst seeking opportunities for continuous improvement to help the business deliver on its purpose to Lead, Govern and Serve and achieve Sustainable Sydney 2030 to 2050.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Complete daily upload of transactional data from the online business gateway and corporate receipting platform (Pathway).
- Identify and action receipting of miscellaneous credits to Council's bank accounts and investigate/resolve chargebacks and other receipting issues.
- Prepare the daily cash management summary, and recommendation for investment of excess funds for approval in accordance with the Investment Policy and Strategy.
- Assist in the preparation of the bank reconciliation and provide periodic cover for the completion of the daily function.
- Prepare transactions for approval via the corporate banking platform, including creditor payment files, direct debit files, overseas payments, utilities payments and miscellaneous payments.
- Update database for lodgement of performance bonds received by the Business and process returns of bonds to customers and/or claims upon bonds in a timely manner, in accordance with the Performance Bonds Policy and Procedures.
- Provide guidance and support for staff at customer service locations and other business units regarding receipting, petty cash and banking matters and procedures.
