Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor Role
We are seeking a skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on health, safety and environmental matters to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, and the environment.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in an HSE advisor, business partner or operational role, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment, ideally within a construction, industrial or manufacturing setting. Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of HSE, management systems and relevant legislation is also required.
The following key responsibilities include:
* Acting as a trusted advisor and custodian of standards, leading the implementation and maintenance of HSE strategies and improvement plans.
* Supporting the rollout of policies, ensuring compliance with all procedures.
* Couching and mentoring leaders and teams from management level through to the shop floor to achieve HSE objectives, while collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address health, safety, and environmental risks.
* Leading reporting and investigations of hazards, incidents, and injuries/illnesses, and ensuring follow-ups are completed.
* Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and collaborating with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, keeping accurate records of safety inspections, permits, and licenses.
The selected candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Solid experience in an HSE advisor, business partner or operational role, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment, ideally within a construction, industrial or manufacturing setting.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of HSE, management systems and relevant legislation.
* A sound understanding of Injury Management, Workers Compensation and Health Promotion.
* A relevant tertiary qualification in work health and safety, risk management, or related field.
* The ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances.
