We are looking for a confident and motivated individual with excellent people skills, a positive attitude and strong work ethic to join our team in a full-time truck driver/yardperson role.
Qualifications & experience
* Current Medium Rigid Truck Drivers license.
* A High Risk Work (HRW) license for a vehicle loading crane is highly regarded, however applicants able to demonstrate that they have been trained and assessed in the safe lifting procedures for vehicle loading cranes with a capacity less than 10 metre tonnes would also be considered.
* Minimum 2 years experience driving trucks equipped with vehicle loading cranes, ideally within the timber and building supplies industry.
* Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Delivering timber and building materials to building sites across the Central Coast, Sydney & Newcastle.
* Provide a high level of customer service.
* Ensure company vehicles are kept safe, clean and presentable.
* Maintaining a safe work environment.
* Supervising and assisting with the loading of your load. Checking off your loads before leaving the yard to ensure order is accurate and complete in order to maintain Walker Bros high DIFOT standards.
* Assisting yard staff with yard duties between/after deliveries eg pulling stock for orders, putting away stock, cleaning and organising yard and shed areas as directed.
* Picking your own hardware orders to ensure accuracy of delivery.
