SAP Business Analyst – Readiness Project
Location: Murarrie, free onsite parking
Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Analyst to join a critical SAP Readiness Project that lays the foundation for a future SAP migration. The project is in its initial phase, focusing on identifying current system gaps, manual processes, and workarounds, with the goal of building a business case and project plan for board approval. We're looking for someone who can not only gather and analyse information, but also influence outcomes through strong communication and thought leadership.

This is not a junior BA role- we need someone highly experienced who can confidently lead workshops, engage change-resistant stakeholders, and analyse both SAP and the surrounding ecosystem to prepare the business for future-state planning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage with business stakeholders to uncover current workarounds, inefficiencies, and potential misuse/underuse of SAP functions.
* Analyse existing processes and data sources, including legacy systems like PeopleSoft.
* Lead and facilitate workshops and interviews with users who may be resistant to change.
* Collaborate with internal SMEs, integration owners, solution architects, and technical teams.
* Document current vs future state requirements and present findings to support strategic planning.
* Identify risks related to data integrity, system integration, and compliance -especially in critical areas like payroll, finance, and government funding claims.
* Support the PM in creating clear, evidence-based business cases and risk assessments.
* Contribute to planning for a cloud migration, including data migration, security, and governance considerations.
* Ensure alignment with internal BAU operations and facilitate a smooth transition back post-project.
About You (Must-Have):
* Proven experience as an SAP Business Analyst- this is non-negotiable.
* Experience with SAP HXM (preferably Cloud) and a solid understanding of SAP migrations.
* Strong process mapping and gap analysis skills across finance, payroll, and integrated systems.
* Confidence in managing stakeholder resistance and driving consensus through influence.
* Experience working with large, complex data environments and legacy system integrations.
* Ability to identify and document risks and opportunities across interconnected systems.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills - this role requires you to build solid relationships and guide.
* Project has executive sponsorship with strong momentum following a consulting phase.
* Payroll is a critical system- stability and continuity are key concerns.
* Integration across finance, HR, and custom modules tied to government reimbursements will be in scope.
* This is a unique opportunity to shape the future-state SAP landscape from the ground up.
* Majority of the team is based onsite, and while some flexibility exists, preference is for in-office presence for workshops, whiteboarding, and stakeholder collaboration.
* You'll work closely with a supportive project team, including a newly appointed Leader, PM and internal SMEs.'
