Akkodis is currently recruiting multiple Process Engineers to join our growing Engineering capability. These roles sit within our global engineering services practice, delivering high impact outcomes for a key customer in the Defence industry.

You will be employed by Akkodis and embedded within a complex manufacturing environment, supporting critical production programs. These are full time 12 month fixed term contracts with strong potential for extension.

About the Role

As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations through the development, maintenance, and optimisation of process documentation, production data, and systems integrity. Working as part of a collaborative, multi disciplinary environment, you will engage closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for a practical, hands on engineer who is confident operating both on the shop floor and within engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities

Process Documentation

* Develop, review, and maintain process sheets and work instructions
* Define manufacturing sequences, materials, tooling, quality checks, and safety requirements
* Support document release and revision aligned with production needs

BOM and Configuration Alignment

* Ensure alignment between process documentation, Bills of Materials, and engineering definitions
* Identify and resolve discrepancies across drawings, routings, and work instructions
* Work closely with cross functional teams to maintain configuration accuracy

ERP and PLM Systems

* Use Infor LN or similar ERP systems to manage manufacturing data and work orders
* Maintain data integrity and support material tracking activities
* Use Windchill or similar PLM systems to access drawings and manage engineering changes
* Support configuration control processes including ECR, ECO, and ECN activities

Data Analysis and Reporting

* Use Microsoft Excel to analyse data, reconcile BOMs, and track performance
* Apply advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, lookups, and validation
* Support continuous improvement through data driven insights

Tooling and Fixture Design

* Design jigs and fixtures from concept through to detailed drawings
* Complete engineering calculations and safety documentation
* Deliver practical, production ready solutions

Manufacturing Support and Improvement

* Support production teams to resolve process issues
* Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives
* Assist in enhancing manufacturing workflows and reporting

Required Skills and Experience

* Minimum 5 years experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
* Strong experience developing and maintaining process documentation
* Solid understanding of Bills of Materials and manufacturing data alignment
* Experience using ERP systems such as Infor LN or equivalent
* Experience using PLM systems such as Windchill or equivalent
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manage engineering changes
* Experience in jig and fixture design including safety and risk considerations
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* High attention to detail within structured manufacturing environments
* Experience within Defence, automotive, vehicle, rolling stock, or heavy manufacturing
* Exposure to low volume, high complexity production environments
* Familiarity with quality and configuration management frameworks
* Understanding of Lean or continuous improvement methodologies
* Experience supporting new product introduction or production readiness

Additional Requirements

* Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, Baseline Security Clearance
