Innovaero is an Australian aerospace engineering and drone manufacturing company delivering advanced unmanned systems for defence and commercial customers. The company designs, builds, and flight-tests sophisticated unmanned aerial platforms and is entering a strong growth phase as programs, teams, and international activity expand.
Role Description
The Electronic Technician will support the manufacture, integration, testing and maintenance of Innovaero's unmanned aerial systems and associated avionics. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the role is responsible for electrical assembly, wiring, prototype support, testing, and flight-line activities, ensuring all systems are manufactured, maintained and operated in compliance with approved designs, regulatory standards, and quality requirements in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Electronic and avionic product sub-systems manufacture and assembly in accordance with design data and work orders.
* Production and termination of electrical wiring, cables, and harnesses in accordance with approved drawings, schematics and specification.
* Work with design engineering team for manufacture of prototypes in accordance with designs, specifications, and technical data.
* Maintenance support of aircraft and associated subsystems.
* Conduct and support the test and evaluation of prototype avionic/electrical systems.
* Technical and maintenance support to in-service electronic/avionic products and systems.
* Application of Risk Management framework (risk assessment technique(s)) as appropriate to design development and achievement of performance outcomes (statutory and voluntary).
* Preparation of technical reports on request, i.e. based on investigations of failures.
* Ensuring compliance to relevant specifications, regulations, codes, and standards.
* Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) flight line maintenance and operations (flight trial support).
* Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of aircraft, taking newly manufactured unmanned aerial systems through final systems integration, functional testing and handover to flight operations.
Note training will be provided on equipment where required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum of year 12 education or equivalent – technical elective subjects preferred.
* Technical qualifications such as CERTIII in Electrotechnology (desirable).
* Ability to work to tight deadlines, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to focus on specific tasks.
* Organised, efficient, and driven to succeed.
* Familiar with modern computers and software.
