Job Overview
The role of the Command Safety Director is a critical position within the Headquarters Australian Army Cadets. The primary function of this position is to oversee and implement Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) strategies, inclusive of Youth Safety and Protection, across the organisation.
This involves providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on WHS matters, as well as ensuring compliance with mandated legislation and policy. The Command Safety Director will also be responsible for managing and executing WHS outcomes, including the development of policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Advice: Provide expert advice to senior management and stakeholders on WHS matters, including risk assessments, hazard control, and incident investigation.
* Compliance Management: Ensure that all AAC activities are compliant with relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and policies.
* Policy Development: Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures that meet Defence and Commonwealth requirements.
* Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff and cadets on WHS matters, including safe work practices and emergency procedures.
