We are seeking motivated and experienced professionals to join a specialised assessment and verification team responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessment outcomes within a complex regulatory and program environment.
These roles support a nationally significant verification program that helps ensure service providers meet established standards and can demonstrate the capability, expertise and commitment required to deliver specialised services to diverse communities.
Opportunities are available at both APS6 Assessor and EL1 Senior Assessor / Program Manager levels.
Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you will contribute to the delivery of robust, transparent and defensible assessment processes that support program integrity, informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Managing end-to-end assessment processes in accordance with approved frameworks, policies and procedures.
* Assessing applications and evidence against established criteria and standards.
* Managing complex, sensitive or high-risk assessment matters.
* Preparing assessment reports, recommendations, decision records and briefing materials.
* Coordinating requests for additional information and stakeholder enquiries.
* Maintaining accurate case management, records management and data governance practices.
* Monitoring program performance, reporting requirements and assessment quality standards.
* Undertaking quality assurance activities to ensure consistency and defensibility of assessment outcomes.
* Identifying risks, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Supporting the review and enhancement of operational procedures, guidance materials and assessment frameworks.
* Liaising with applicants, service providers and internal stakeholders regarding assessment matters.
* Contributing to program governance, operational planning and business improvement initiatives.
Additional EL1 Responsibilities
* Providing technical leadership and expert guidance on assessment methodology and decision-making.
* Supervising, mentoring and developing assessment staff.
* Managing workflows, workload allocation and quality assurance activities.
* Leading complex assessments and providing oversight of sensitive or high-risk matters.
* Supporting governance, audit, risk management and strategic program delivery activities.
Qualifications
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* The ability to interpret complex information and apply assessment criteria consistently and defensibly.
* Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing recommendations, reports or decision documentation.
* Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive matters professionally and objectively.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
* Experience using case management, records management or workflow management systems.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
* A commitment to quality, accuracy and continuous improvement.
Highly Regarded Experience
* Government, regulatory, compliance or service delivery environments.
* Quality assurance, governance or audit functions.
* Data analysis, reporting, records management or information governance.
* Business analysis, process improvement or operational reform initiatives.
* Experience working with complex customer, assessment or service delivery systems.
* Staff supervision, coaching or team leadership experience (particularly for EL1 applicants).
