Position purpose:
The Processing Officer – Receivables/Treasury plays a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial processing and customer support within the Synod Office. This role ensures the effective administration of receivables, treasury functions, and banking processes, while providing training, problem-solving, and analytical support to internal stakeholders. By maintaining high standards of service, compliance, and continuous improvement, the role contributes to the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the Synod's finance function.
Responsibilities:
 * Accounts Receivable Management, including, but not limited to:
 * End to end accounts receivable management including creating and maintaining customer accounts, invoice processing, receipting and debt collection (excluding enterprises) including processing direct debits from congregations/presbyteries
 * Proactively identify the issues as they arise (Eg multiple invoices for the same service) and resolve them or escalate as required.
 * Cashflow Management, including, but not limited to
 * Reconciling bank accounts for ANZ Funds, General, Scholarship, UEL and St George.
 * Investigate unallocated banking deposits.
 * Daily Cashflow maintenance and management of the 12 week cashflow forecast.
 * In partnership with managers, provide optimal support and problem solving where transactions are non-routine and require assessment to ascertain the correct cost centre and recording requirements.
 * Coordinate and administer various transaction settlements with Church Entities.
 * Treasury Operations, including, but not limited to:
 * Coordinate with the Finance and Treasury Analyst the efficient administration and design of transactional banking for the Synod Office and Enterprises.
 * Finpower reporting monthly reporting.
 * Finpower transactions – UCIS investment deposits.
 * UCIS investment and loan maturity management.
 * Creating new UCIS client investments, cash investment withdrawals (e.g., UCQ, WMQ etc) & approved loans.
 * Managing the distribution of bequests.
 * Managing the distribution of quarterly school funding.
 * Oversee managing bank account administration and processes within the Synod Office in line with approved policy.
 * Administer credit card applications and cancellations and manage user access in Webexpenses for UCA Corporate Cards.
 * Distribution of interest to respective accounts
 * Maintenance of the credit card merchant facilities
 * Revaluations of mark to market positions, dividends, bonds and associated accounting
 * Franking credit accounts and lodgement process for the Property Trust
 * Distribution of interest to respective accounts
 * Identify and recommend process improvement initiatives, in collaboration with your manager, either within the Finance system, or to the customer processes by understanding the needs of the customer and where possible pre-empting a satisfactory solution.
 * Timely and accurate completion of monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
 * Maintain and in-depth understanding of all culture elements and values. Embody and continually demonstrate the value-based behaviours by setting a clear clean and consistent example for others.
 * Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day-to-day work including interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.
 * Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
 * Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.
 * Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.

Experience and Skills:
 * Accounting qualification or relevant treasury operations experience. Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions, including numeracy skills and ability to analyse financial documentation relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
 * Ability to operate without supervision with general guidance on progress and outcomes sought and take responsibility for actions.
 * A combination of strong customer service skills and acute analytical and problem-solving skills that enable a timely analysis of the underlying requirement of customers and stakeholders.
 * The role has a core focus on continuous improvement and transactional efficiency by maximising the features of Microsoft Dynamics whilst constantly assessing how processes can further become streamlined.
 * Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence and interact with a range of people.
 * Strong team orientation and a willingness to contribute to a positive working environment.
 * Demonstrated experience in the management and use of financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, Share Point, as well as a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
 * Be personable with a commitment to building strong relationships with key stakeholders/customers across the Church and its agencies, boards and committees of the Synod. In addition, exceptional customer service skills with the ability to identify issues and work collaboratively with clients to find a satisfactory solution.
