The Opportunity
As a result of continued growth, we are looking to hire a Specialist (comparable to Consultant/Senior Consultant level in Big 4 professional services firms) to join Risk Advisory in either Sydney or Melbourne.
As a Specialist, you will be an integral member of a team delivering risk, regulatory and compliance advice and solutions to clients across a variety of industries, including financial services, telecommunications, energy, retail, corporate and government. Your work will include advising clients on the development and implementation of risk frameworks, the assessment of risk programs, the design of controls and implementation of controls testing and uplift, as well as the design and implementation of regulatory change and compliance programs.
Risk Advisory is made up of subject matter experts across operational risk, regulatory risk, data & analytics, ESG, financial crime, cyber risk, commercial advisory, project advisory, and managed services. While everyone brings their own areas of expertise, we all collaborate closely to solve our clients' problems in the most holistic way possible. This allows you to not only build up your specialised expertise but also gain access to a broad range of expertise, clients, industries, and ways of working.
You will also support Partners, Directors and Executives to identify and execute business development activities to build the Ashurst Risk Advisory brand.

What you will bring
* You're excited about using your talents to help solve a diverse range of client problems with new, unique and inventive solutions, to assist in the growth of a unique and "first-to-market" practice.
* You bring 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk, ideally in a client-facing consulting role. Candidates with 4+ years in compliance, risk management, or internal audit at listed companies will also be considered.
* You're a skilled risk practitioner and are comfortable with the common tools, frameworks and standards in this space. You have proven experience developing and implementing risk management strategies and controls.
* You're confident in autonomously finding solutions to a range of problems, especially those related to risk management, in a commercial and client focused way.
* You have exceptional written and verbal communication with a focus on attention to detail. You will have experience writing a range of business documents, including reports, letters and proposals.
