About the Role
The Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) – Regional Reliver will perform radiographic examinations and associated duties in accordance with standard radiographic practice, department policies and procedure. Employed by Bendigo Health, the role may be allocated to work at health services providing public radiology services across the Loddon Mallee Region, which includes Bendigo Health, Kerang District Health, Heathcote Hospital or Swan Hill & District Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Operate within the legal boundaries and MRPB Code of Conduct and Professional Capabilities Standards, and ASMIRT Scope of Practice
* Demonstrate a raised level of technical ability and skills in the production of the highest quality diagnostic images that are reasonably achievable given the patient condition and in accordance with the ALARA principles
* Aligned to relevant procedure manuals, ensure all examinations are performed efficiently with timing governed by clinical and patient need
* Ensure all examinations are presented for reporting with minimum delay and with accurate recording of associated details
* Provide constructive feedback to junior staff with regard to image technique quality and patient care
* Act as a mentor or preceptor to less experienced MIT's, including interns and students
* Recognise and report adverse patient or staff events
* Collaborate with all multidisciplinary team members for the desired outcomes for patients
* Conduct yourself in a manner that will not endanger yourself or others
* Contribute to safety awareness and promotion by contributing feedback, ideas and suggestions
* Report all radiation incidents immediately to the Radiation Safety Officer or Director of Medical Imaging
* Be willing and available to perform all shifts and recall – across a 7-day week.
Qualifications
* Current Victorian Radiation Use Licence
* Current AHPRA registration – Medical Radiation Practitioner
Required Skills
* Demonstrated high level experience and skills in general, trauma, and theatre radiology.
* Demonstrated high level experience in at least one of the following: CT, Mammography, Angiography or MRI
* Extensive RIS and PACS knowledge and experience
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of CMBS and imaging billing rules
